Cheers to 2015

Ahhh… 2015. The year my husband and I have declared that we’re finally going to get our sh… together.

2014, much like 2013 and 2012, kind of kicked our butts. I’m not
complaining about the year that we had by any means. It was more apparent to me this past year than ever how very fortunate our family has been, and the list of things I have to be thankful for is pretty extensive at the moment. However, I feel like the year took a pretty significant physical and emotional toll on us. By the end of the year we were just flat out spent.

Enter 2015. So far it has proved to be pretty similar to 2014. Go figure. This is our year though.

This is the year that we start better managing our work responsibilities so that we’re not completely exhausted by work stress and in bed by 9:00 come Friday night.

This is the year we no longer work so late that we end up eating out almost every night. This is the year that our standard conversation of, “What do feel like having for dinner tonight? … I don’t know, nothing really. We’ve already had everything.” gets to take a rest.

This is the year we back to tackling the house that we took a “short break” from working on over two years ago.

This is the year that I tackle the things that don’t actually need months to complete. IE putting my ironing board back in the hall closet 9 weeks after I took it out to iron one thing.

This is the year we become parents to TWO boys. A change that has a very distinct possibility of derailing the progress of everything else we’re trying to do to get our sh… together.

This is our year though. So here goes nothing!
